The Admission process of Delhi University (DU) has begun, within days it observed more than 50,000 students registering on its admission portal for admission in UnderGraduate (UG) courses in session beginning this year.
New Delhi: Over 50,000 students and counting have registered on Delhi University admission portal for admission to UnderGraduate (UG) courses within record 24 hours, said the sources.The portal opened at 5pm on Saturday and will remain open till July 4.
The Varsity shared these official figures, about 57,312 aspirants seeking admission in UG courses registered on the admission portal soon after it went live on June 20. Not only the University observed a large number of applications in UG courses, but also for the PostGraduate (PG) courses, the number of applications reached 18,837. Around 2000 online applications for PhD were received.
On Saturday itself, it received more than 25K registrations online.
In order to address doubts in the admission process, the Varsity will hold a webinar on June 23. This year, the entire process will be contactless and online, due to the rising toll of deadly coronavirus patients in the state and across the country.
This year, however, the admission process got delayed by months due to COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown imposed across the country as a measure to check the rising number of patients succumbing to this disease.
Last year, the admission process commenced on May 30.
