The Bar Council said that a panel headed by a retired Supreme Court judge will soon decide upon a new schedule for exams
New Delhi: The Bar Council of India has decided to postpone the All India Bar Examination (AIBE 2020) in wake of Covid-19 pandemic and its impact across the nation. The exam was previously scheduled for August 16, 2020.
The regulator body has also resolved to extend the last date for the submission of application till August 31.
The resolution passed by the Bar Council of India read, “ Keeping in view the present pandemic (COVID-19) situations and frequent lockdown, the increasing number of corona patients daily, the council has decided to postpone the All India Bar Examination to be held on August 16 and it has further resolved to extend the date of receipt of applications from candidates till August 31.”
According to a report by a leading newspaper, the new date of the examination and schedule will be decided by the monitoring committee for AIBE. The panel will be headed by a former judge of the Supreme Court of India.
How to Register?
Candidates who have not yet completed the application process can register themselves for AIBE 2020 on the official website - www.allindiabarexamination.com.
The Bar Council of India (BCI, New Delhi) which regulates the legal education in the country conducts this exam every year. This national level exam is been taken up by thousands of candidates across India who aspire to practice law in India. A lawyer needs to pass this exit examination with two years of enrollment in the Bar Council. An advocate has to clear the AIBE exam to get "Certificate of Practice" by the Bar Council of India.
