The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Specialty Courses) or NEET SS 2020 is an eligibility-cum-ranking exam conducted by the National Board of Education and as a gateway to super specialty courses- DM and MCh programmes in India. According to the Indian Medical Council Act, 2016, it is the only entrance test which is valid for admission to DM/ MCh programmes in India. NBE conducts the NEET SS according to the schedule of admissions announced by Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER), 2000.

Latest Update

Originally planned to be conducted in the last week of June, the date for the entrance test for super specialty programmes has been postponed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) till further notification due to the extension in the exam dates of qualifying exams. The revised dates will soon punch the clock.

NEET SS 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER) has prescribed the eligibility criteria for NEET SS 2020, according to which the applicant must be qualified in PG medical degree course on or before 15th July, 2020 from a recognised institute and be registered with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. However,  the extension in the examination dates of different exams due to COVID-19 outbreaks has led to the deferment of NEET SS 2020 Exam.

NEET SS 2020 Admission Process

First Stage:  Filing an application form for NEET SS 2020 on nbu.edu.in

Online filling of the application form for NEET SS 2020 Exam is to done in online mode taking the below-mentioned steps:

  • Creating ID on the official website of NBE- nbu.edu.in
  • Completing the registration on the same website.
  • Filling out the Application Form for exam
  • Uploading the scanned copies of required documents and recent photos
  • Paying the non-refundable application fee of INR 3750/- in online mode.

Second stage: Downloading the NEET SS 2020 admit card

Admit cards are uploaded online on the official website of NBE, downloadable by the applicants in online mode after login to the accounts created while registration. After downloading it, a recent passport-sized photo has to be pasted on the NEET SS 2020 admit card by the candidate in the space provided for it.

Third Stage: Taking the NEET SS 2020 Exam 

Candidates will have to appear for the entrance test on the respective date along with their admit card and photo ID proof as both are imperative documents to take the test. In the examination the candidates will have to attempt a total 100 MCQs under two sections which covers a total 400 marks. Four marks are awarded for each correct answer, however, each incorrect answer will make you lose one mark.

Fourth Stage: Checking the NEET SS 2020 Result and Scorecard

NEET SS 2020 result will be uploaded in pdf format by NBE  on the official website alongside the rank list for each super-speciality programme. Candidates can check their result/rank list online for the two super-speciality courses they have opted for. 

Fifth Stage: Registering for NEET SS 2020 Counselling at mcc.nic.in

The qualified candidates are considered for the NEET SS counselling process which is conducted after the declaration of the result followed by official release of NEET SS scorecard. The validity of the NEET SS result 2020 and scorecard is applicable for enrollment into DNB Super Specialty programs and Fellowship courses offered by NBE.

Sixth Stage: Reporting at the assigned college for Seat Allotment

The eligible candidates have to report to the colleges allotted to them during the counselling process. 


Q. Can I fill the NEET SS 2020 application form in offline mode or using a mobile phone?

A. The application form for NEET SS 2020 can be filled only via online mode and the aspirants are advised to apply for the same using their computer as the compatibility of the application form is not guaranteed with mobile phones which may lead to failure to fill all the fields of application form. 

Q. What is the application fee for NEET SS 2020 for the candidates who belong to SC/ST category and how is it to be paid?

A. The application fee for NEET SS 2020 is INR 3750 for all the candidates irrespective of the category they belong to and it has to be paid via online mode using Debit Card/Credit Card or Net Banking services.

Q. What should be done if the candidate forgets his/her login credential?

A. The candidate must refer to his/her registered email as upon successful registration, the login credentials are sent on the registered email address of the candidate. 

Q. What should I do if I lost my Admit Card?

A. Download it again from the same official website of NBE, the admit card for NEET SS 2020 can be downloaded as many times as want.

Q. What is the age limit to apply for NEET SS 2020?

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association, KPPGCA has released the admit card for KMAT 2020 for the eligible candidates who applied for the examination by filling the application form and paying the prescribed application fee. The admit card has been released via online mode on the official website of KPPGCA on 27th October 2020. 

Successful candidates need to download their admit card from the official website i.e. kmatindia.com. using their login credentials.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. This year, the examination will be conducted on 29th October 2020 for admission to management institutes in the state.

According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

The registration fee needs to be paid before the deadline and the due date for the payment of the registration fee for NEET 2020 Counselling's first round is 2nd November 2020.
