Now supplanted by NEET PG, the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination was conducted for offering admission into PG programmes in medical sciences. Now, NEET PG will be organised in place of AIPGMEE by the National Board of Examinations to offer the admissions into MD/ MS/ PG diploma programmes offered by medical schools in India other than institutes like JIPMER, AIIMS, etc.

AIPGMEE 2020: Overview

  • The AIPGMEE 2020 has been replaced by the NEET-PG and admission will be offered based on the merit-list of NEET-PG.
  • The interested candidates seeking admission have to fill the application form for NEET-PG exam via online mode. Printed application forms are unacceptable.
  •  Completion of 1 year internship before 31st March 2020 is mandatory to be eligible to apply for the exam.
  • The duration of the examination is 3 hours & 30 minutes to attempt a total of 300 questions.
  • Counselling will not be conducted by NBE and the candidates will need to apply separately for admissions to different universities or institutes.

AIPGMEE 2020: Exam pattern

It is a computer based examination that comprises a total of 300 MCQs to be answered in a duration of 3hr.s & 30 min.s. Each right attempt will fetch you 4 marks, however, each incorrect answer will lead to the deduction of 1 mark. The language medium of the question paper is english. The exam paper will be classified in three parts namely A, B, and C with 50, 100, and 150 questions, respectively.

AIPGMEE 2020: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be an MBBS degree-holder or he/she should have a provisional MBBS pass certificate from an acknowledged institute.

The post-MBBS internship must be completed on or before 31st March 2020.

Conditions that restrict the eligibility are as follows:

  • When the internship is not completed.
  • When the Medical Institute is not acknowledged by MCI or SMC
  • When the application form is not submitted before the deadlines or not in the prescribed format.

AIPGMEE 2020: Application Process

Candidates need to fill the AIPGMEE/ NEET PG 2020 application form on the official website of NBE. Steps to fill the application form are as follows:

  • Click on the link that reads ‘Apply for the Application form’.
  • Login after creating an account.
  • Enter the details required in the application form such as name, father’s name, DOB, academic qualification & so on.
  • Upload the important documents, scanned images of signature and passport size photograph.
  • Make payment of the application fee using net banking/Debit card/Credit card.
  • Verify the details entered in the application form and click the ‘Submit’ button.
  • Take the print out of the confirmation page for future use.

AIPGMEE 2020: Application Fee

The application fee for AIPGMEE 2020 varies with the category of candidates. The application fee for General category and OBC candidates is INR 3750/- whereas that for the SC/ST candidates is INR 2750/-. 

AIPGMEE 2020: Admit Card

  • Admit cards are issued to the successful applicants through online mode.
  • Candidates need to download and take print out of the admit cards from the official website, followed by pasting a photograph on it. 
  • The admit card is a must-carry document while appearing for the examination as without admit card and valid photo ID proof, the candidates are not allowed to enter the examination centre.

AIPGMEE : Result/ Merit List/ Cut Off

The AIPGMEE results are announced online on the official website alongside the facility to download the same. Based on the result, a merit list of qualified candidates is prepared and published on the official website along with the scorecard. 

To get admission into PG programmes, 50% is the minimum qualifying score. GEN-PH candidates need to obtain only a 40% score and the same qualifying score of 40% is applicable to SC/ST/OBC/SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH.


AIPGMEE: Counselling

Candidates whose names are enlisted in the merit list are called to participate in the counseling process based on their ranks. In the counselling process, the candidates get options to choose the preferred programmes and colleges, followed by submission of the same to conclude the seat allotment process. It should be noted that the seats are allotted based on the rank obtained by the candidates, preference entered by the candidates and the availability of the seats.

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association, KPPGCA has released the admit card for KMAT 2020 for the eligible candidates who applied for the examination by filling the application form and paying the prescribed application fee. The admit card has been released via online mode on the official website of KPPGCA on 27th October 2020. 

Successful candidates need to download their admit card from the official website i.e. kmatindia.com. using their login credentials.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. This year, the examination will be conducted on 29th October 2020 for admission to management institutes in the state.

According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

"The much-awaited Sikar Medical College has received the approval of the National Medical Science Commission. It is a result of the strong will power of the Congress government of the state that the Sikar people have got their right, their medical college," a tweet by Mr Dotasara.

The news highlights the commencement of first round of NEET 2020 Counselling from Tomorrow

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

Step 1: Go to the official website of MCC i.e. mcc.nic.in.

Step 2: Find and click on the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Click on ‘New Registration’.

Step 4: Save your new login ID and password that will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Click on ‘Candidate Login’ and enter your new login credentials.

Step 6: Enter all the details asked.

Step 7: You will get a registration slip after filling all the details. 

Step 8: Make a payment of the registration fee.
